Thursday, August 31st, 2006As metioned before, I calculated quantum transport in alkene and alkyne extended molecules by length dependence. But unluckily there are some errors till yesterday.
So grately, I solved it today.

Recently, gas adsorption of carbon nanotube becomes a inportant issue for both fundamental research and technique application of nanotubes attributed to the dramatical find of sensitivity of oxygen adsorbed of electronic properties by Collins. et al. [Science, 287,1801]. In particular, the effect of gas adsorption on the electronic properties of carbon nanotube have recently received certain attentions both experimental and theoretical. The electronic and transport properties are found to be sensitive gases. Thus, it is possible to construct chemical sensors based on carbon nanotubes or develop nanoelectronics device using carbon nanotubes droped with gas adsorption. For example, SWNT materials exposed in air constitute the p-type part in the p-n junction of nanotube based transistor.
IBM researchers look beyond silicon technology from PhysOrg.com
Scientists at the IBM Zurich Research Laboratory have demonstrated how a single molecule can be switched between two distinct conductive states, which allows it to store data. [...]
In science one try to tell people,
in such a way as to be understood by everyone,
something that no one ever knew before.
But in poetry, it’s the exact opposite.
